Goldwin Chamonix Collection

Unlocking the Full Potential of Athletes
A New Trail Running Collection

In order for athletes to discover uncharted opportunities and limitless possibilities, we continually unearth new technologies and pursue innovation, evolving our products to even greater heights. Guided by this philosophy, Goldwin is proud to launch the Goldwin Chamonix Collection, a trail running–focused line. Inspired by the world’s most renowned 100-mile (approx. 160 km) race, held every year in late August in Chamonix, France, the collection delivers trail running apparel with a revolutionary balance of lightness and durability—essential for athletes to complete such a grueling journey. Developed with feedback from elite trail runner Gediminas Grinius, who is under a support contract with Goldwin, the collection is presented alongside visuals featuring Grinius himself.

In a 100-mile race that spans countless mountain passes toward the distant finish line, athletes must overcome extreme challenges: physical limits, sleep deprivation, shifting weather, and contact with rocks and trees. These conditions—unconquerable with conventional Goldwin products—are less about competing with others and more about confronting oneself. In a raw natural environment, far removed from the conveniences of the city, the question becomes: how do you keep moving forward and inspire yourself? This collection is designed for exactly that—a fearless journey through a 100-mile “odyssey” that mirrors life itself.

“We are products of nature. Therefore, nature and humans are one, meant to coexist. When I run long distances in nature, I converse with myself and discover parts of me I never knew existed.” —Gediminas Grinius

Vertical Trail Rain
Jacket / Pants

Balancing Lightness and Durability—
Goldwin’s First Shell Items Built for 100 Miles

Introducing a new shell jacket and pants engineered to endure the harshest 100-mile trails. Born from this concept, Goldwin’s summer innovation is the Vertical Trail Rain Jacket and Vertical Trail Rain Pants, woven with Dyneema®—a fiber said to rival steel in strength—into a 20-denier nylon fabric to enhance durability. In long mountain races, abrasion from rocks or snags from branches is inevitable. By incorporating Dyneema, these items retain the hallmark lightness of a lightweight shell while minimizing the risk of damage, making them emblematic of the Goldwin Chamonix Collection.
Lightweight, waterproof-breathable, and durable—three elements indispensable for a 100-mile race—are integrated through thoughtful details. The jacket’s back lining, prone to wear from packs, is reinforced with glass-bead processing, while action pleats allow it to be worn easily over a pack. Organic curved designs inspired by nature are integrated into raglan sleeves for greater arm and shoulder mobility. The center waist zipper pocket stores nutrition or small items, doubles as ventilation with an inner mesh, and functions as a packable pocket for the jacket. Areas prone to abrasion, such as underarms, and heat-prone sections from waist to thighs in the pants, use ultra-thin waterproof-breathable materials to enhance lightness and reduce stuffiness.
For adaptability in sudden weather changes, waterproof zippers are placed at the jacket’s front and the outer lower legs of the pants, while the hood and waistband drawcords can be adjusted one-handed while running. Reflective logos on both jacket and pants ensure nighttime visibility. Pairing them with the Vertical Jet Mesh Cap, also made with Dyneema and featuring side mesh, offers comfort, safety, and style for confronting nature head-on.
The colorway is inspired by Mont Blanc—the highest peak in the European Alps, visible from Chamonix—where glaciers remain even in summer. The nuanced gray tones with a faint bluish glow evoke the beauty of sunlight reflecting off the ice, adding a modern Goldwin essence to the collection.

Goldwin Moon
Trail Pack

A Curved Form and Wide Opening for Smooth Storage of All Life-Saving Gear

The Goldwin Chamonix Collection also includes the Goldwin Moon Trail Pack, designed for long trails with the storage capacity, durability, and lightness required for 100-mile races. True to its name, its most distinctive feature is its moon-like rounded pattern. The large, gently curved form hugs the body to minimize vertical and lateral sway on unstable trails. Compared to conventional trail packs, its slightly higher center of gravity makes it feel lighter.
Most importantly, the zipper follows the curve of the pack, creating a wide opening and enabling bottom access, allowing quick, intuitive retrieval of items—even when fatigue during a race narrows your focus.
The main fabric uses the same waterproof-breathable Dyneema grid material as the Vertical Trail Rain Jacket and Pants for lightweight tear resistance, while the bottom is stretch mesh. Inside, a zippered pocket and patch pocket improve organization, and a vertical pocket on the right side can store poles with the included cord. Combining durability and lightness, it offers the capacity to carry every mandatory item for survival in the mountains. With this pack, you can take on the trails of Chamonix—or anywhere in the world—with confidence.

Advanced Hybrid
Trail T-shirts

A Hybrid-Material T-shirt Inspired by the Natural Landscapes of Chamonix

Like other mountainous regions hosting long trail races, Chamonix can feel like summer or winter depending on altitude, time of day, or weather. To preserve stamina amid temperature fluctuations, versatile innerwear that works both solo and as a base layer is essential.
The Advanced Hybrid Trail T-shirt, part of the Goldwin Chamonix Collection, uses sweat-wicking, quick-drying nylon waffle fabric as the main material, with lightweight 100% polyester knit panels under the arms to handle high-sweat zones. Modified raglan sleeves offer wide shoulder mobility without interfering with packs, while taped seams keep the skin-facing surface flat to prevent chafing—making it indispensable for comfort in demanding activities.
The curved panels and color palette are inspired by Chamonix’s nature. The collection’s signature pink comes from “pink fluorite,” a mineral found in the area.

Vertical Trail Device Shorts

Trail Shorts Blending Graphical Design with Versatile Mobility Features

The Vertical Trail Device Shorts combine two nature-inspired colors—pink fluorite from Chamonix’s minerals and ice gray from Mont Blanc’s glaciers—with topographic graphics of the Chamonix region. This design pays homage to the duality of beauty and harshness in the mountains, and to the trail runners who take them on.
The fabric is lightweight ripstop with breathability and water repellency. The bonded hems are gentle against the skin, and the baggy silhouette with deep side slits expands range of motion, even on steep, rocky climbs. The zippered rear waist pocket provides functional storage for essentials—such as a smartphone or nutrition—that can be crucial for survival during a 100-mile race.
